Pool Party Games For Kids During The Warmer Weather

By Marsha Klein

Pool party games for kids are a fabulous way for the kids to enjoy the warmer weather while they get some exercise with family and friends. Planning ahead can help you to keep all of the children busy and limit the possibility of them getting bored.

While some parents will just encourage the youngsters to play the activities, it can be even more appealing to the children if there are prizes for the winners at the completion of each game. Prizes do not need to be costly to be lots of fun. Often, you can find some great choices at simple discount shops.

Though you can choose any type of prizes that you want, you might consider buying prizes that are related to water or beach fun. Swimming masks, shovels, pails, water balloons are just a few of the great things that you can use as a prize.

There are a variety of games that can be played in the water these days. Basketball is probably by far, the most popular but, there is also golf and tennis among the many more choices. The activities can be bought in many different department stores. While the prices will vary depending on the store, they are not usually very expensive.

You might also consider buying a bunch of rubber ducks or rubber balls. Mark each of the items with either a color or number in order to identify them. Tell the youngsters to swim as fast as they can with the item you have given them without using their hands to make the ball or duck move, the first one to get to the other side will be the winner.

Ice cube races are also a popular choice and are very budget friendly. Simply grab a bunch of ice out of your freezer and throw it into the swimming pool. In teams, have the children collect as many as they possibly can without letting the cubes melt. To make it more difficult, tell them that they are not allowed to use their hands to collect the ice cubes but, instead have to use their feet.

If your guests are older children, they would probably like a water relay. How the game is played is really quite simple, put the kids into different teams and give them an item to race from one end of the pool to the other with. The first team who gets all their members through the race first will be the winners.

Pool party games for kids should be determined based on the ages of the children who are attending the festivities. Always remember that you need to have a lot of adults present to ensure that the children are safe while they are in the water. Encourage parents to stay during the party and be sure that you do not have too many youngsters swimming at once, having too many in the water can make it much harder to watch everyone.
