Organic Farming & The Growth In India

By Rob Sutter

The efforts that are seen within organic farming are, in my eyes, some of the best that can be considered. There are various crops that are going to be grown and the truth of the matter is that fresh food is going to be seen at a high level these days. You can look to the growing demand for this, especially the most recent developments that have been made in India. I did not realize this to be true until I was able to read a recent report on the matter.

The Economic Times posted an article regarding the rise in organic farming and it is no wonder as to why this has been seen. Growers of all kinds have been seeing far more success in selling their fruits and vegetables to those who were looking to purchase. In addition, India as a whole has become far more health-conscious, making sure that the finest crops are consumed. This is where networks along the lines of Colle Farmers Market may be able to help out most.

I do not think that anyone can say anything about the ways in which these particular crops are able to attain the attention of the public. I didn't realize how true this was until I read the article, as it seems as though growers have been able to attain 118% higher price for the leafy vegetables that have been grown. Considering that 53% have been seen from grains, it's apparent that the former statistic stands tall. To me, this speaks volumes about the demand that is tied into produce.

If there is one thing that can be said about the relationship between grower and consumer, it is symbiotic. Keep in mind that farmers are going to be able to benefit from the profits that consumers make as they provide the best goods out there. Consumers, on the other hand, are not only able to attain the finest fruits and veggies out there but help smaller businesses out in the future. I do not think that anyone can argue with the impacting nature of this bond.

Organic farming has been seen in a great way within India and it's not hard to see why. It's an economic choice to make, of course, but it is something that will be able to stand on its own as far as health is concern. Those living in India have demanded greater food be made available and they have more than gotten their wish. With more farming efforts being seen in the future, most likely, I believe that many other areas are going to be able to benefit, too.
