Trans fat is a bad fat that has been proven by medical physicians to be terrible for anybody's well being. The fats occur naturally in some foods such as meat. Despite this, several foodstuff we eat today have high cholesterol levels. Manufacturers normally use hydrogenated cooking oil that congeals when under room temperature. It is bad for your heart and health since it raises the bad levels of cholesterol but reduces the good levels of cholesterol. Moreover, these congealed oils last for a longer time span and hence most restaurants employ it in their deep frying machines because constant changing of oils is not required and it saves them money. Pies and pie crusts also contain the notorious hydrogenated oil. They are baked foods that have high cholesterol content. And most people love eating pies; they are therefore at high risk of getting diseases that are related to the high content of fat in the body.

Snacks like microwave popcorn also have trans fat. Although the popcorn can be considered to be part of a healthy diet, sometimes it is made using a lot of salts and hydrogenated oils. And with many people opting for microwave popcorn, illnesses are being bred daily. There are also toppings that accompany the microwave popcorn and to make matters worse; they may also contain this dangerous fat.

Doughnuts are palatable delicacies that many people in the society love. However, they are known to contain trans fat that are obtained from the oil used in deep frying the doughnuts. You can substitute doughnuts with English muffins, whole grain toasts and bran muffins that have the needed cholesterol level.

Frozen foods are other foods that have this hazardous substance. Although they might have good nutrients, they may be harmful; it is, therefore, imperative to check food package levels for cholesterol amount. Another issue to consider is the food is cooked. It should be prepared using the oils like olive oil.

Dessert mixes such as cakes and pancakes may always be convenient to us, but they may have high contents of bad cholesterol. Some of the ingredients that manufacturers utilize in making these mixes usually contain trans fats that lead to heart diseases. So as to avoid contracting heart illnesses, you can consider the old approach of making cakes; mixing the right ingredients from scratch by yourself. Moreover, keep in mind that you have to use healthy vegetable oils and in place of frosting, you can opt for powdered sugar.

In conclusion, always make sure that check food labels to know the amount of trans fat available. Checking the ingredient list for hydrogenated cooking oil is also a prerequisite so as to avoid heart-related diseases.
