The Single Most Important Thing With The Best Exfoliator.

By Zulema Gelman

Exfoliating is a treatment where the dead cells on the surface of the skin are removed by abrading it with a sponge. You can exfoliate any area of your skin. When you exfoliate your skin, be sure to choose a product that is suitable to the condition of your face.

Exfoliating helps to remove the wrinkles, and fine lines from your skin. It speeds up skin shedding by removing the dead cells on the uppermost layer of the skin to expose the finer and newer tissue beneath.

How Does Exfoliation Improve Skin?

So what exactly is exfoliation?

"Exfoliation involves the removal of the oldest dead skin cells on the skin's outermost surface, and has been used for many years to help maintain the skin. Exfoliation is involved in the process of a facial and during body treatments at spas. Exfoliation can be achieved through mechanical or chemical means". Wikipedia.

The most popular type of exfoliator is the mechanical exfoliator. Mechanical exfoliator usually comes in the form of creams or lotions that contains bits of rough particles to help exfoliate your skin by sloughing against it.

You can, on the other hand, use stronger, more vigorous movements when exfoliating your body, especially the most problematic parts prone to unevenness and cellulite. These types of products are also often referred to as scrubs.

Chemical exfoliators may contain salicylic acid, glycolic acid, citric acid, fruit enzymes. The most effective means of exfoliating are AHAs (products that contain alpha hydroxy acids) and BHAs (products that contain beta hydroxyl acids). There is actually only one BHA, and it is a famous salicylic acid. Glycolic acid, lactic acid, malic acid, citric acid and tartaric acid are all considered AHAs.

Exfoliation Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles - For those of you on the anti-aging fast track, exfoliating is one step in your skin care routine that is absolutely essential. Nothing sold on the market today even comes close to providing the results from a great body exfoliator or exfoliating facial scrub. For all the reasons mentioned above, removing the top layer of dead skin results in a dramatic reduction of fine lines and wrinkles -and for a fraction of the cost.

You can also make your own exfoliator by blending fruits such as oranges, papaya, pineapple, and kiwi that contain protein resolving enzymes that helps to improve your skin complexion.

After you have lend a large chunk of the fruit with some sugar free yoghurt, apply it onto your face and leave it there for about 15 minutes before washing it away with a facial cleanser. This type of homemade exfoliating mask is beneficial for your skin by combining the lactic acid in yoghurt and the fruit enzymes.

A lot of things also depend on scrub beads that are a very important part of exfoliating products. They define how and for what you should use them. For example, scrubs with sea salt are great at polishing the skin; scrubs with plastic beads massage the skin and make it more elastic. Scrubs with crushed almond shells are more dangerous, because they have sharp edges. But they are suitable for those who have an oily skin, because they provide a deeper peeling. Now, I would like to talk a little about those products that contain little plastic particles. Please, be aware that while we are enjoying the smoothing benefits of those products, ocean creatures DO NOT.

Scrub the exfoliating cleanser on your skin in a circular motion. Be sure to be gentle in areas such as the neck and thigh. When you are done, rinse your skin thoroughly with clean water. If you have dry skin, you should follow up with a moisturizer because exfoliating will make your skin drier.
