Qsymia or hcg

By Jon F Greene

The FDA has finally approved a weight loss drug called Qsymia for the first time after a long wait of 13 years. The efficacy of the new prescription weight loss pill Qsymia is considered to be controversial by the researchers especially when compared to the efficacy of prescription hcg diet plan that promotes rapid weight loss. Despite being difficult to pronounce, Qsymia is considered less effective in achieving weight loss according to the clinical evidence. They claim that prescription hcg diet is effective in causing profound weight loss as the people on prescription hcg diet rapidly lost weight by up to 1 pound per day, while those on Qsymia slowly lost weight at a rate of 1.9 pounds per month.

HCG diet has been practiced from past 50 years and is considered by various healthcare experts as a natural alternative to the newly introduced experimental weight loss drugs. HCG diet was originally brought into limelight in 1954 by the famous endocrinologist, Dr. A Simeons. He has proven that it is an effective solution for inducing rapid weight loss in a safe way in patients without giving any chance for experimentation as in case of guinea pigs.

Moreover, HCG (or Human chorionic gonadotropin) is a hormone that is naturally produced by the placenta of the pregnant woman in an effort to feed the developing embryo and to utilize the excess fat reserves for energy rather than a muscle. Hence, naturally produced HCG plays a vital role in the development of the fetus. Prescription HCG is also approved by the FDA to treat delayed puberty in boys and to treat infertility in women. It is a highly recommended and widely used weight loss tool all over the world.

In contrary, Qsymia is a new prescription weight loss drug that has been recently approved by the FDA. Qsymia is usually prescribed for weight loss and it contains a unique blend of two different chemicals. It consists of a combination of phentermine (which was previously used in the weight loss pill, fen-phen) and topiramate (an anti- seizure drug prescribed for epileptic cases).

It is highly recommended to avoid blindly taking the prescription weight loss drugs just for a reason that they are approved by the FDA. Qysmia diet pill is associated with serious side effects and the vast range of side reactions vary from patient to patient. So, patients should seek an advice from their healthcare provider and perform a thorough drug research before taking the pill.

It has been reported by WebMD that the topiramate ingredient used in Qsymia contributes to weight loss by causing fullness of the stomach, making the food tasteless or less appealing and by boosting the calorie burning. According to the statistics, the subjects can't achieve fast or profound weight loss with Qysmia. The researchers claim that when patients were treated with the possible highest dose of Qsymia for a year in combination with placebo, they lost very little weight of about 6.7 percent and 8.9 percent of the total body weight. Hence, the person weighing 300 pounds can lose weight at a rate of 1.9 pounds per month and a woman of 170 pounds can lose only 1.1 pound per month.

From the above mentioned evidence, we can understand that Qsymia helps to slowly lose weight very little weight. In fact, it causes some serious side effects including abnormal heart rate and the main health concern is that it contains an anti-epileptic drug. Prescription hCG diet, on the other hand, is naturally obtained from the human placenta and it causes rapid weight loss in a safe manner.

In addition to that, prescription hcg diet is prescribed under a medical supervision to minimize the risk of health complications. An appropriate hcg diet plan will be tailor made by the physician to each patient to achieve rapid weight loss within a short period of time. Moreover, hcg diet plan focuses mainly on obesity while the Qsymia contains an anti-seizure drug that is used to treat epilepsy.

To briefly sum up, prescription hcg plan is the best option to attain profound weight loss if you are planning to lose weight safely and without side effects. HCG plan causes rapid weight loss of up to 1 pound per day and is a natural alternative for prescription weight loss pills. In contrary, Qsymia is a prescription weight loss pill that causes slow weight loss of about 1.1 pound per month which is nowhere close to HCG induced weight loss.
