The Benefits Of Under Sink Water Filter System Use

An under sink water filter can offer people that are concerned about water contaminants some benefits. But why then do so many people still not use them? Using filtered or purified water along with other healthy products such as Shilajit powder may contribute to overall health and defend you from multiple troubles. So clearly there are other things to consider when it comes to deciding whether to install an under sink water filter or other similar device.

We will first discuss some points in favor of protecting drinking water beyond the protection a municipal water treatment facility offers. Next, we'll consider some of the reasons alternatives to water filtration may not be ideal. Finally, we will look into some reasons people still opt to disregard under sink water filter systems or other filters.

A municipal water treatment facility cannot always protect you from an outbreak of bacterial contaminants in your tap water. Industrial accidents and natural disasters can seriously contaminate otherwise reliable tap water sources. There are over 2000 known potential contaminants that could be present in tap water; there are even some that are poisonous. It is even suggested that some types of cancer have been linked to toxic materials in drinking water. Clean, healthy drinking water is key to the proper mental and physical development of children. In the United States, the EPA estimates that lead in tap water contributes to around 480,000 cases of learning disorders in kids every year. Some people see an under sink water filter as unnecessary and only for the kind of health nuts that use exotic products like Shilajit powder, but there is clear evidence that more people could benefit from using these filters. They aren't only for health nuts.

Many try to utilize other systems to clean up the drinking water they use. Boiling water is an age-old method for clearing out many contaminants (but certainly not all.) It could be a workable system for some, but for most it's very inconvenient and also leads to drinking water that tastes rather flat. Some people turn instead to bottled water. Bottled water may seem like a healthy alternative to tap water, but in truth it often is tap water. In 1999 the Natural Resources Defense Council studied bottled water and found that as much as 40% of the bottled water they tested was actually tap water. Further, bottled water can even leach chemicals from the bottles into the water.

Many have reasons they still opt not to install an under sink water filter or other filters. Filtration systems are sometimes quite expensive. Some also dislike the hassle of having to pay for and switch out the filters in the filtration systems from time to time. Boiling drinking water or drinking bottled water may be acceptable alternatives to some people as well. There are drawbacks and advantages to any approach to protecting drinking water.

Whether you utilize products that contribute to overall health such as Shilajit powder or not, you could easily be among those that find an under sink water filter may offer you benefits that make it worth the expense.
