For the last few years we have all seen the inflatable tunnels used by mostly American football teams. They are usually places right by the stadium tunnel exits and situated with fog and smoke machines and for night games, sometimes laser machines as well. The players then exit the tunnel onto the field of play and the crowd goes wild.
There are many soccer teams across the Atlantic that have started using these as well. These tunnels are a great way to impress the fans and bring about a rush of team spirit. When fans see the giant Lion head that is meant to represent their team sitting on the field and smoke and fog start rushing out of the mouth they get so exited they can barely contain themselves.
The players all say the same thing. They prefer running out onto the field through them as well. The players all love running through them. It is what they have wanted to do since they were kids. Of course this method of entering the field has not been around too long, but the players are not all that old either.
No pizazz. Ever since teams have started to use these inflatable tunnels everything has changed. Fans get riled up before anything even happens on the field. It can and has been said that these tunnels are the ultimate expression of the teams pride. The players have even taken to coming up with their own ways of exiting these giants.
The manufacturers are even making somewhat smaller versions for some youth sports as well. The youth football and baseball and soccer teams all aspire to be just like their older counterparts. So adding these to the field and giving them the opportunity to make a stylized entrance just like the professionals has been a big hit.
The parents and the kids love it. The parents seem to like it a little more however. When these were tested with the youth sports teams it was the parents who cheered the loudest. When asked why after the game they said because it made them feel as if they were watching their kids on a professional field.
Both playing and watching sports is all about the experience. The memories that you make and the show that is put on. Part of that starts as soon as the players enter the field of play. In the past, when they would just walk or run onto the field the fans would get excited but there was no flair to the experience.

Sure it makes perfect sense for a sports team and that is what the public has seen over the years. But rock bands, rap groups, even political candidates have used them to make a grand entrance.
